Could a smartphone predict mortality risk? New research suggests that a smartphone, which assesses an equivalent to gait speed, may be able to accurately predict mortality.

The new research, which relied on 100,000 participants wearing activity monitors over the course of a week, successfully validated: 

  • The smartphone's ability to predict mortality risk.
